Over the last nine years, Vanarin have been making their mark on the indie rock world. Fans and critics eagerly awaited their return, and Hazy Days did not disappoint. With two albums under their belt, the British-Italian band returned to the music scene last June with their single, A Fly On The Wall. This was the first introduction to the Hazy Days universe.

Vanarin is comprised of David Paysden (Vocals, synths), Marco Sciacqua (Backing vocals, guitar), Massimo Mantovani (Backing vocals, bass) and Marco Brena (Drums, percussions). Hazy Days is Vanarin at their most confident, sonically and lyrically. Each track is a snapshot into the human evolution from birth to adulthood this album perfectly captures the feeling of growing up and the loss of home.

Across the 8 tracks, the band constructed a sense of disorientation and dreamlike state. Hazy Days is the perfect title for this body of work. Feelings of love, loss, and hope are sprinkled together throughout the album. Creating a sense of Deja vu and the more you listen the more you get wrapped in the world.

I Don’t Know seamlessly captures the feeling of a summer day blending into a warm night. It is full of peace and contentment and will fit perfectly into any festival set. In the summer, this song could naturally become a hit. It has all the elements of an easy-listen summer song.

The sound of Hazy Days is summed up in its closing track, Memories. A song that captures the loss of childhood and home. This feeling is amplified through the imagery of visiting a childhood home. It is a place that no one can truly return to as it constantly changes. But as we grow it becomes a place that lives in our hearts and memories.

This band are truly a craftsmen of sound, and each note is selected to create the perfect ambience. They have pushed themselves into the realms of indietronica and psychedelia. A truly unique sound that they should explore in further works. Together they have created an album full of nostalgia and homesickness. The 8-track album leaves you wanting for more. As if the album is a holiday, you aren’t ready to depart.
