January is time of new goals and finding new artists and songs should be at the top of your new year’s resolutions but if you have been struggling to find your new obsession then Who Is Blank is here to help with a playlist full of upcoming artists and releases from artists you love that you might have missed amongst the January chaos.

Yes and? Ariana Grande
Making a return to music after her 5-year break Ariana Grande did not disappoint. Yes, and? Is the perfect song to brighten up the dull winter days and has you longing for that summer sun even more than before. With Madonna influences this campy disco tune will soon become queen of the queer scene as it creates similar vibes as Troye Sivan’s Rush, proving that Ariana is once again serving to her audience. Although this sound is a big step away from the RNB sound Grande was gearing towards before her break her sound is fresh and something that is truly needed.
Favourite Line – “My tongue is sacred, I speak upon what I like”
Caesar on a TV Screen by The Last Dinner Party
Like all their other singles Caser on a TV Screen does not disappoint full of drama, sinister undertones and flare it is hard not to love The Last Dinner Party. For fans of Florence and the Machine and Kate Bush, The Last Dinner Party are bringing theatrical whimsical music back into the mainstream after their debut single Nothing Matters blew up on TikTok last year. This song is one you feel yourself listening to at least 5 times a day it is addicting with constant change in tempos and haunting vocals singing about greed and control it is hard not to love Caesar on a TV Screen
Favourite Line – “When I was a child, I never felt like a child. I felt like an emperor with a city to burn.”
Northern line by Livia
The second single from this upcoming artist, Northern Line by Livia perfectly encapsulates the feeling of life continuing after a relationship. The feeling of returning to the places you once visited together alone is dreamily captured in this song with soft angelic vocals with a soothing guitar and piano creates a world you can picture yourself in. It is a perfect song for your frosty morning commute especially for those on the Northern Line
Favourite line – "She looks too much like me but I’ll get a better revenge"
Bittersweet by Anna Leah
For fans of Gracie Abrams, Bittersweet is a soft lyrical song that focuses on lost love and what could have been. Full of longing and want this song is for the hopeless romantics who daydream and create scenarios about longing looks and first dates with strangers they just met. With a build-up and relaxed guitar solo this song is for those who have August by Taylor Swift on repeat and listen to Phoebe Bridgers to ‘cheer themselves up’, truly a song for sad girls everywhere. Anna Leah already has a discography full of hits that should be on everyone’s playlists.
Favourite line – “You’re a distant memory a story I'll tell my kids to get them to sleep”
